Abel Ferrara (born July 19, 1951 in The Bronx) is an American movie screenwriter and director. He began retired as a director by making amateur films in Super 8. Within 1979, he first achieved recognition for directing & star in The Driller Killer, the violent exploitation film all about an creative person world health organization suffers a mental breakdown.
